Shame he could never get a decent run through injury. He showed talent when he was fit.

I think insurance covers that, and the fact that Ashton was injured whilst on England duty means that the FA cough up.He must be feeling bloody awful I would have thought. Playing career over at 26 before he really got to shine, which he doubtless would have done.
I hope he takes up a coaching role and progresses in the game.

Bloody shame, but not surprised. Had real potential both for us & on the National stage and never really got to show it, horribly affected by injuries ever since coming to E London. 
t, bad news for him, great player.
