It's probably been done a few times - I did search - but it's a what video camera thread!
I'm learning about filming and editing (aperture, iris, zoom, depth of field, etc.) one day a week and looking to get a video camera/camcorder to practice with when I have some other free time.
By the standards of PH I'm unacceptably poor and looking to just buy anything* to get started and understanding of what does what etc.
A quick trawl of eGay reveals quite a feast of cheap crappy things that I could go for - are there any suggestions?
Also video vs internal harddrive etc.
What is Video, Video 8, Super 8?
Basically - what is cheap and good, is there anything cheap and good I could do HD on?
* Within reason
ETA - Tape is probably not what I want as transfering that to be edited takes ages - doesn't it?
