S Convertible model

Hi,

Just bought this all ALU model, the seller didn't have much info on it.
It looks great with lots of detail, not an S3 but close.
Does anybody know the manufacturer, rarity or what it's worth ?

There was a stand at the resent Classic Car Show at Birmingham that was selling them. I'll have a look to see if I can work out which stand was selling them. They had loads of different classic cars (3 or 4 different TVR's)

Don't think these one piece moulding type models are particularly sought after my collectors so would guess value is not a lot (except maybe to some one who has the "real car") ?
Majority of "die-cast" collectors would possibly consider this an "ornament" rather than a model !

I think V8 Yale has the original one, I took these the day he picked it up, looks very similar.




That man has a habit of buying cars that I would buy if I saw them first. The rear end is IMHO far better than that on the S.

I would say from looking at these that the model is based on the 'M' series??

It's a 3000S. Around 250 were built in 1978/9. It was the first TVR I wanted, but by the time I could afford one the later S series were available!

SMTS do a model of a V8S in kit form or built.
Mine is the same as my car - still in kit form

Enquired little while ago if they had any plans to modify the moulds a bit and do an S3 (V6)? was told no, and in fact V8S is now out of production.

Got one in kit form from Grand Prix Models (in Banbury) about £40-£45 if I recall correctly, the made up one they had was about double I think. Plan was to modify it myself, maybe, one day ???
