We've got snow forecast next week here up north, and it's been bloody freezing (literally) lately.

Yeah we've got ample amounts of black ice up in Carlisle. Really hard frost but I cant see it snowing for Christmas. But never say never I suppose.

Why people get so hung up a 'white xmas' is beyond me.

Its something to look at and to moan about because it makes the whole country grind to a halt. Bar Wales, Scotland and Northern England. What's not to like about that.

Phew, I thought this might be some sort of political muslim/neo-nazi extremist thread.

Glad to see it's just Brits talking about the weather, and all as normal.

Getting my winter tyres on next week, so snow doesn't bother me, I'll be impervious!

Hopefully Aberdeen will get proper snow. Not just frost and rain frown

Traditionally, we did have a white Christmas, but that was during a cold period for a couple of hundred years, and Christmas back then was actually 'in the middle of January' as far as winter was concerned, and we usually have a bit of snow in the middle of January. The calender was changed in 1740 and it shifted 14 days, with December 25th now being a touch warmer than it was previously. So in our modern world, we tend not to get a white Christmas as we did in the old days.
