Have narrowed down my holiday next year now to one of these 2 places, instead of Vietnam.
Anyone been to both places, Iran seems more appealing as it will be cheaper and more of a cultural change, I fear Japan may be a bit boring and samey throughout.
Obviously in Iran you're far more likely to be imprisoned on spurious charges by over-zealous religious police with rubber truncheons (that aside, I've no doubt it would be a fantastic place to visit)
A friend went to Iran with work for 3 weeks, he was doing normal days 9-5,.. he said he was bored to tears by the end. Usually he comes back from places telling us how great they are.
