After a bit of advice from you guys on the watch forum. I am having a debate with myself over buying a nice watch. Don't really need one, but always had a soft spot for a decent watch and feel I should treat myself after a very tough year. So I have been looking at an Omega Seamaster Planet ocean xl (2900.51.82), but prices new vary from around £1600 through to over £2000. Is £1600 the best price I can expect to buy it for? I know there is some margin on omega, but not too sure what the limit is on pushing for a discount. I have not decided on what case size yet, probably 42mm due to my spindly wrists!

I hate to side track threads but would it be a lot cheaper to buy a 45mm Planet Ocean in USA? I am looking to purchase one in the new year and I will be over in USA in June so could hold out till then if need be.

wink Think your right Matt!

Additionally "panful" was supposed to read painful. I had however just returned from a dinner party that involved some strange rum based drink, which I am sure has damaged my fine motor skills!

Sort of related, but I bought a seamaster from the states (Key West) and paid in USD's what you'd have to pay in GBP back in blighty. Tis worth a look mate.
