...my Christmas lights had been stolen from the front of my property.

I love Christmas, I know many people don't, but I do. I love the decorations and love the fact that people sometimes make a real effort with putting up lights and such outside their houses. So last year, I hung my first set of lights outside, just some white lights on my porch that look like icicles. Nothing offensive, just nice and festive.

So this year along with the lights under the porch I thought I'd string some simple fairy lights through the conifers at the front edge to our property. They were a gift from my father in law as he didn't want to use them anymore. So they are nothing offensive and didn't encroach on the pavement at all, we'd made sure of that.

However, came back tonight to find that somebody had pulled them so hard they had snapped. What gets me is that we live set back from the road, so the only people who would have cause to walk by would be those who live next door to me, or somebody who has willfully gone out of their way to steal / break them.

Utter wkers! I hate theft or vandalism of any kind, and to do it to something like Christmas lights. I really am sick and fking tired of this place...

I too love Christmas. It's the only time of year that I get a nice relaxing break from work and still get paid for it whilst not having to use any of my holidays up biggrin

That being said, I really enjoy the sights of other people's festive creations done to their property. It always cheers me right up in a good way.

Above all, I'm sorry to hear about the vandalism done. I only hope you find the culprit and castrate the bd

There is a house near me covered in twinkling fking blue bd leds.

Making a rather spirited exit from a corner, glanced in my rear veiw and saw the flashing, thought it was someone wanting to talk cars for a minute or two.. wink

I am a christmas hater, however I hate theives more and I have no problem in how anyone wants to display their affection for this time of year, as long as they don't disturb me and how I wish to celebrate mine.

Hopefully they did their back in trying to rip the fairy lights off, but probably not.

Sad sign of the times. People will try to nick it even if it is bolted down.
