Possible NEW Chassis for Sale - CAN - AM

Hi all,
My work is looking like it might end soon so out of interest I have a CAN-AM Chassis being built by the Factory at the moment due at end of February.

Details are:
CAN-AM
Standard Roll Bar
Centre Shift 5 speed

Would anyone be interested in this they could get if delivered straight from the factory at discount price as I have mainly already paid for it.

p.s. Also have 2 year old zz4 engine

Hm, was first thinking of going for the Can-Am, then the GTR, and now....

My plan was to start a build earlist in september this year. I need to clear out garagespace and to save up funding.

Are you based in GB ?

I was curious, because I have a friend/contact that lives in Scotland but on occasions comes home to Scandinavia. He has mentioned that he has a car and trailer and could bring home for example a car for me.

But one thing I thougt of was that I would want it LHD, and I guess that the layout of the chassi is different for the footwell and fixingpoints for the steering column from RHD, right ?

The chassis has to be built as either LHD or RHD, you could move the brackets etc.. but probably then not a saving for you

Do you mean that there's now diagonal bar under the feet of the passenger, so that one could place the foot well on either side ?
Is it then only a question of moving some brackets for the steering rack ?

You would need to confirm with the factory if it is possible

Talk to the factory.
I can understand they would not want to give Brian his money back for the chassis because they are running a business.
But, if they have recently taken another order they may be willing to fill that with Brian’s and build a LHD one in it's place.
The advantage to the factory is that rather than having lost a customer (Brian) they will gain a replacement who will then need all the other bits in due course.
Sounds like a way forward to me.

Yes, I've been thinking about that. Only it seems the delivery of the chassi will be pretty soon, and I've got at least a couple of months of work left before I've got all the confirmation I need to be certain that I can register the car in Sweden.

And,time for clearing up the workshop. Have an Alfa Romeo that I need to assemble again so that it can be moved (and possibly sold....)

Is there no one who wants a brand new cheap CAN-AM chassis which can be delivered direct from the factory.

Or do Ultima over estimate the amount of interest in these cars.

Actually that should read I have over estimated the interest in these cars.

I know there is still a lot of interest in these cars.
The factory have sold quite a few this year already.

If you are really desperate, surely you can do a deal with them?

BTW I know how you feel, my finances went pear shaped about 3 weeks after getting my chassis in '98 and it was 5 years before I was able to carry on with it.
If I could have sold mine then, without losing too much money, I would have, but glad I did'nt!

Is it just the chassis, or is it a rolling shell?
