Great turn out! Shame there wasn't a little more sunshine and a little less rain, but it wasn't too bad for mid December. I've sorted through and uploaded some of my photos to flickr, so thought I'd kick off a photos thread. I will be uploading plenty more later today smile. Full photo set is here

I wish I could've made it...Looks a superb turnout! Better than the last PH MB World meet?!

Good to see Mike Rob bringing the F40 out to play again...I remember the last time it appeared at the PH MB World meet a few months back. Particularly remember how everyone stopped in there tracks when that rolled into the car park.

Magical!

what a great day!! loved every bit of it, especially seeing everyone leave and opening up the tappets down that straight, came in my BMW 330ci and wasnt expecting such a range of fantastic/rare/ludicrously expensive cars. will be going to the next one for sure.

Thanks for the photos for those that didn't attend but why do people keep taking pictures of parts of cars ??!!

I know what a car badge looks like, I know what a wheel and brake caliper looks like. Theres probably a lot of people who would like to see a photo of a complete car !! Preferably not inverted or at an angle of over 45 degrees smile

I think there's a great deal of fantastic photography on this thread, thanks for contributing.

Don't suppose anyone got a sufficiently good quality pic of our Renaultsport Clio?

Because detail shots can be aesthetically pleasing/visually interesting and can be more interesting to take (they can also be dull or cluttered of course - I've seen plenty of great detail shots, however, from some of the photographers here). Speaking for me personally, an amateur photographer, I can get bored of seeing just shots of whole cars, and I can get bored of taking just shots of whole cars (although in different locations/different light it's still interesting to try find an angle that really works well for that car in that location and light). Also at the pistonheads meets the cars are parked quite close together and you have a lot of people walking around so it's hard to get a full car shot that feels nice and clean (sometimes the other cars and people can add character to a shot, but sometimes they just distract).

Tilting from the horizontal can make for a more dynamic feeling photo of a static object, although it can be over used (and it can be done poorly and just to distract from the photo being a bit naff in the first place) - same with heavily messing with the colour balance/contrast, it can sometimes add to a photo but it also can be a bit like putting lipstick on a pig.

Half the photos I put up this time were detail shots and half were full cars. I did take more full car shots but wasn't particularly happy with them as photographs (I mean they show the car clearly, but the angle/light/composition just didn't feel very good) - from the Wilton house show earlier in the year I put up loads more full car shots.
