brake light fuse failure
Discussion
The break light fuse on my 4l chimaera keeps blowing. It is even blowing a 30amp fuse when the ignigtion is turned on. The old bible says that the brake light fuse is connected to the speedo and reverse light, but mine seems to be on its own. Any ideas as I can't get it looked at for another week. Cheers.
Does it only blow when you press the pedal?, that would mean its after the switch. If the switch was short, it would have to be a short to chassis(very rare and i dont see how), as if it was just short, the lights would just come on. If it blows anyway and the wires are disconnected, its another circuit, or a wiring prob before the switch. I wouldnt try the bigger fuse route as the wiring will become the fuse ! The joys of TVR wiring.
