Unfortunately, the statement hasn't come from anyone with a shred of integrity, honesty or scientific knowledge - but it's a start....

Tony Bliar said:
The world must take action on climate change at Copenhagen even if the science is not correct, Tony Blair, the former Prime Minister has suggested.

Following the ‘climategate scandal’, Mr Blair said the science may not be “as certain as its proponents allege”.

"Act now on climate change at Copenhagen even if the science is not correct, Tony Blair"

Hmmm... Typical. Replace 'climate change' & 'science' with 'WMD' & 'evidence'!

If Bliar has used those words, then to me that's as good as a cast-iron guarantee that it's a load of bks

He's probably setting the groundwork for a series of new lectures about how he was the first to realise it was all wrong and single handily saving the earth.

Tony Blair may be many many things and most of them couldnt be repeated in polite company, however, he is one of the most adept politicians of his generation when it comes to knowing when to abandon an idea and move on.

If the smilling war criminal is starting to move away from AGW, then I'd suggest that his paymasters in the US have decided to do likewise and the turning point in the battle is almost at hand smile

Hopefully they'll give him the cell next door to Al "manbearpig" Gore

Don't think its a load of bks, climate change is happening, for sure. A) climate always changes. and B) how much humans are responsible is unclear.

Personally, its good to see a politician actually admitting the uncertainty, rather than blaming phone chargers and drivers.

Mind you, I equate Blair and truth marginally...

Because just as WMD's were not the reason for the invasion of Iraq, so possible MMGW is not the reason for political MMGW measures.

On one level the total hysteria regarding climate change on both sides is totally OTT, looking at it from the middle, one thing no one can deny is that Pollution is bad news, be it the hole in the o zone layer, flooding through de-forestation, rain forests etc

The above is all very real and man made. Climate change is clearly natural though!

He is also a catholic and therefore in denial that his half arsed religion is contributing heavily to world overpopulation. Hence even is the science is a crock of st we must make the masses live like pigs once again so papism can carry on being supported by fear and poverty. The little bd should be beheaded.

As a Canadian Environment Minister, Christine Stewart answered that question - to her satisfaction anyway - a number of years ago.

Christine Stewart said:
No matter if the science is all phoney, there are collateral environmental benefits.... climate change [provides] the greatest chance to bring about justice and equality in the world
It's a call to continue with the redistribution of wealth ideology, penalising hardworking class people to buy new tat for chavs and more limos or a new jet for third world 'politicians' regardless of the science because that's the politics behind it all - the politics of socialism.

Quite right. Pollution is bad, but CO2 is not pollution. And what really, really f**s me off about this eco-lie is that de-forestation, the wholesale slaughter of sharks and the general animal cruelty are being ignored with all resources being directed to removing a perfectly natural product which feeds trees from the atmosphere...

y'know, that sounds like a bit of desperation is creeping in. And as someone else posted, this guy is sharp enough to distance himself from damage if and when the spin fails. This week might be interesting, scanning the news feeds there's a US senator going along to upset Obama's applecart;

http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/2009-12-13-cope...

and an article from the same place to a question that's always puzzled me; when all this crowd come home waving little slips of paper headed "We've Saved the World Deal", how on earth are they going to make it stick ?

http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/2009-12-10-cope...

They might agree to limit emissions but reading around they don't have any way of ensuring that everyone keeps to it. Apparently even Obama doesn't want any punitive measures in place for countries that don't walk the talk, India & China are resisting any talk of international verification standards, etc, etc.

So unless we find a way of saying "that's a Chinese CO2 molecule !!" this claptrap just ain't gonna work....

..And why do our idiot 'leaders' tell people that Britain "Must lead the way in cutting carbon emissions" - We must be one of the most de-industrialised countries in the EU!
Hasn't two major steel work factories just closed down, with one moving its production to India?

Yep. The Teeside Corus plant shut down (allegedly) because of 'Carbon Cap and Trade' or whatever its fooking called.
