Porsche 924 v8 Conversion
Discussion
Am planning to do this within the next few weeks.
Just looking for some information on whether the splines in the propshaft will fit the rover v8 and also if theres a company that produces bellhousing adapters as a means to attach the v8 onto the propshaft outer casing.
As much info on this topic as possible would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Jonathan

Here's probably the best technology available for the 944/924S V8 swap. If you're going to all the trouble, it would appear that the best choice is a small block Chevrolet V8 with aluminum heads and intake. Weight is almost identical to the original Porsche setup, and the torque, power, longevity, are all way superior to the tiny Rover (Buick, Pontiac, Oldsmobile V8 of the 1960's).
The Rover, however, would be fun, but like I say, if you're going to all the trouble, why not get some cubic inches under the hood??? The SBC is the same external size in 283, 305, 327, 350 and 383 stroker form, and they routinely pull 400 hp in hot tune, and 300-hp without even trying.
