Can anyone help me with a small question. How long will it take for the battery to go dead on an 07' Gransport? The car is going to be left on the drive for about 4 weeks. Used to Porsche ones which seem to go dead overnight......

Thanks

Phil.

My 4200 Used to go dead after 2 weeks of no use - have you not got a trickle charger you can plug into the boot socket?

It's my mates car and I'm sure he doesn't have a trickle charger. I'll take it for a blast then I think, as it's been about 2 weeks already. 20 miles should be enough but if the sun shines tomorrow maybe I'll do a couple of hunded miles just to be sure........ smile

Mine was fine for weeks on end.. left it over xmas last year for 4 weeks covered in snow smile started on the button when I returned. Some of the early ones did have a habit of draining the battery but it was mostly down to the tracker unit.

There is an isolator switch in the boot.

Pull down the right removable panel where the Battery is, and look for a round switch twist it against the direction of the arrow on it, to turn off all the electricals.

i had battery drain issues with my spyder, needed to be on the trickle charger, party because the OE battery by Fiamm seems to be rubbish. I changed mine for a optima redtop which whilst more expensive was much better. I tried the same trick with my F430 but it doesnt fit, so if you want an unused optima battery you can have mine cheap (couldnt return it as i had taken the plastic seals off the terminals)

Only problem with that is the windows and seats lose their position and are a pain to reset.

Yup, and if you're unlucky (like me), the sat nav will re-program itself in to Italian when you turn it back on.

Still, I always wanted to learn more Italian. Now I have no choice.

hehe

(I know there's an easy fix for this, just haven't found the time yet....)

If the OP is not interested in your battery I may very well be having jumped in my GS this morning to find it with a nice flat battery!!! Ony replaced it 7 months ago, albeit with a motor factor jobbie so probably never a long term solution. Feel free to PM me and we can work something out.

Best wishes

Scott

PSP, you have mail...

interstingly ferrari are using the optima battery on the 430 scuderia but they must have changed the metal frame it sits in to fit it. I was rather annoyed to have to spend 200 on a new ferrari one knowing it isnt as good
