Wiring money to the USA from a UK bank account?
Discussion
Man-knowledge required: I need to send a small amount to an account in the USA. I have the bank details (address, account no, ABA no, Swift code) but no idea about how to proceed.
Googling the subject just brings up a range of third-party operators, and I'd rather do it directly from my UK high-street bank if possible.
Anyone got any idea how to achieve this? Can it be done easily?

SWIFT BIC
Routing code
Account number
Name and address of the Bank.
The person you are sending to should be able to provide these. Acc no and routing code are on his cheques. The Swift should be a 20 second call to his/her customer service.
Then call your bank telling them you want to make an internatiional transfer they will transfer you to someone who hopefully knows what to do.
A lot easier from a UK bank, trust me
The Swift will take the form of USA0044 or similar.
ETA If you need to pay a certain Dollar amount, send it in Dollars, ie changed in UK. The person will then receive the exact amount(With no US deduction). If you send it in Sterling you may find your payment is lacking due to daily rates.

You'll have to do it from a branch. Barclays are OK, last time they gave me the business spot rate, which wasn't that far off the headline rate. Takes a few minutes; pop in at lunch time, speak to a customer services bod, hand then the details alll printed out, and let them get on with it.
Depending on what type of account you have, they may not even charge you the 20 quid fee.
IBAN, SWIFT numbers plus US bank account details (preferably including address, etc) and Robert is one of your relatives.
