Does anyone know what sort of warranties dealers may supply with (modern-ish) Ferraris when sold 2nd hand? Having spoken to Verdi a while back, they seemed to say that Karl "stands by each car he sells" or something similar. I'm trying to work out whether any dealers provide more than the required 3 months necessary under the SOGA as I can't seem to find specific details on their websites (unlike Porsche specialist dealers who tend to make quite a big thing of their warranties).

The logic behind this is that if a private car checks out under detailed inspection, you may be spending a £4k+ premium at the dealer for what amounts to only 3 months of safety net and a little less leg work checking the car. Although admittedly a lot of dealers seem to cambelt and major service the cars before they sell them, so that's worth > £1.5k.

And while on the subject of warranties, are there any out there that will cover a 10+ year old Ferrari (that are actually worth having)? I tried WarrantyWise (there was a thread in the Porsche forum seemed to praise them), but they don't appear to cover cars mroe the 10 years old.

As always, any info much appreciated smile

Hey mate.

Short answer = no.

3rd party ones are not worth the bother with a car like an F355.

Main dealers supply their cars with 1yr warranties, and then you can keep extending this each year at the end of the warranty period for a further year, so long as you keep up the maintenance properly. What more are you looking for?

Are you sure they do this on cars older than 8yrs old?

And what are the terms?

9 years is the max for Ferrari approved warranty.

You'd be hard pushed to find main dealers selling older cars, as the requirements that Ferrari place on the Approved Used scheme is too costly to make economic sense.
