On another note, I have a Golf Plus 2.0 TDi 140 DSG as my hire car.

Quite impressive machine, it has the full DVD touch screen sat nav with reversing camera etc, and by gum its quite a good machine. Not sporty in any way, but fantastic at munching miles in comfort. Averaged 58mpg on the way over here.

The Mk6 Golf in this spec would be marvellous, the Plus is a bit wierd really, not really sure why it exists.

Brugge is a great place.

I was there in spring, and loved it.

It is - lovely place.

Brought the O/H with me this time, so she's out eating in cafes and spending lots of money right now.

Great place to eat if you're ever here is Cambrinus.

400 different beers, and a Carpaccio of Beef starter which is just amazing.

Cheers!

Do they still have the ice rink in the square at this time of year?

Yep, the O/H and I went on it last night, in -4 conditions... Brrr again.

Warmed up afterwards with some mulled wine and a bratwurst though, yum.

Food of the Gods.
Oh yes.

Plate of carpaccio of beef, with rocket, shavings of parmesan and nice thick balsamic.

Followed by a very very nice steak with a beer and mushroom sauce.

I seem to remember the first pint i had there, and being told it wasnt strong- maybe 8 or 9%.
The second one-stronger- tasted like syrup, the third one was rumoured to be 15.5%.

Everything else was a blur.

Tried to get dad some beer from 2be (i think the shop was called) and struggled to get one under 10%
