Must confess I didn't know enough about Di Grassi, so googled him:

4 years in GP2!!!

the other thing that seemed to be a recurring theme was also: runner-up (or 3rd...)

At least he's got F1 experience from his test driving duty.

But what colour are the Virgin cars going to be if the Autosport piccie is representative?!

I think this is a pretty good driver lineup. Glock is decent enough and Di Grassi has been very consistent over the last 3 years in GP2 (although a perennial runner-up, consistent is probably what you want in order to pick up points when people drop out)

Black with red and white bits? Bare carbon instead of black would be nice though.

I'm not sure how well this team will do... not using a wind tunnel, operating on a very poor budget, and an unconvincing second driver choice(IMO).

I feel like i should get behind this team being born and bred in south yorkshire myself, even if there is'nt a british driver.

Me too- it's what started out as the Sheffield-born Manor Motorsport team right ?

Mind you....knowing the "Manor" area of Sheffield I'm surprised the cars not made up of nicked bits of Astras etc biggrin:

Di Grassi was superb in 2008 but uninspiring this year. I wish Manor the best of luck. Nick Wirth's form with Simtek was hardly scintillating but the latest LMP1 Acura was quick all year and shows some lateral thinking which I quite admire. Not using a wind tunnel is a brave move, but given the prohibitive cost and the complexity of Wirth's simulation tools, it might stand them in good stead. Best of luck to them.

Funny piece I saw today quoting Beardy Branson challenging Lotus F1 (Tony Fernandes) to an airliner owners duel, all we need is to get Force India involved and Stoddart back in the sport now....
