Off Doing a drive-about in California next year, and this is on the list. Anyone got any experience of the area?

How long you there for? It is on my list of places to see.

Good choice, its awesome. Wish I had spent a few nights in Yosemite rather than a few hours.

Been a couple of times. Great place, lovely dark blue skys and clean air. Go off the beaten track and look for a cone...there's some masive ones like you've never seen before.

We went in early May this year to both Sequoia and Yosemite. Sequoia was nice, much quiter than Yosemite. I will always remember it fondly as the place I encountered bears, which Yosemite had failed to provide.

However, I am not sure I would re-visit Sequoia (& Kings Canyon), but I would go back to Yosemite in a flash. It was just much more awe-inspiring.

I would suggest spending longer in Yosemite and try to make sure you avoid the weekend. Visit Sequoia afterwards, and enjoy the escape from the crowds!

Cheers. We're in Sequoia at the weekend, then Yosemite in the week. I've been to Yosemite a few times before, but always want to go back.
