I'm having a bit of a moral dilema...

Had the car 6 months now, every time i look at other cars i drive the gtv and instantly love it again.

However... i have a few bills coming up and tbh.. im not sure i want to spend the money on it as it didnt really cost a huge amount! Jobs are:

The front shocks are slowly wearing out - i have replacements but the top allen nut is rounded so needs to be drilled off!

- MOT in Jan

- 2x new tyres needed - only 2 in reality but as i have 156 teledials on it, they are wrong profile so need to replace 4 ideally.

- Service

Now i know that none of these are huge jobs but i will be suprised if i get any change from £500
Thats nearly half the value of the car... which is my dilema. What do i do!!??

Spend the money and have a car you like and know is sorted for the next 12 months.
wink

Far better than trying to swap it/sell it and buy a car you don't know.

Why on earth would you sell it? It doesn't matter that service items add up to half the cost of the car - they always will on older cars. The fact is you got a mega buy in the first place.

Because while my heart says i like the car and i should (and probably will end up) spending the money on the car and keeping it,

My head is saying, sell it on for what i paid, then buy another car for the same price that will last me another year without spending a penny... therefore saving the costs of service parts etc.

But how?
It's no MOT, tyres are shot, and shocks are knackered!
You would at least need to MOT it to sell it unless ou just part-ex it for next to nothing.
Then you'll buy another car of completely unknown history - which may be OK, or it may need £1000 spending on it in the first six months!
