Went to two parts factors and they don't have a listing for the dizzy cap and rotor for the 400se. Anybody know an equivalent or part numbers please. Also what's the general opinion on the bestsplugs for the road, NGK BP6ES maybe? Cheers

Dizzy cap should be the same as a standard Classic Range Rover 3.9. I always use the NGK B7somethingorother (I'll just go'n check) with a 0.9mm gap. thumbup

Hi Wynn!

I fitted those to my friends 350i, made the world of difference. Then some 'specialist' was doing a service for her and said that they were wrong and went back to the '6's'. Would probably have run better if he'd tightened them all up too!

Check the dizzy cap carefully as they were made in different heights... the taller ones don't work!

Thats odd - I run BPR6ES in mine - slightly hotter plug and dont have any problems apart from a very slight bit of pinking in the height of summer - I just backed it off.

Perhaps I should be running no7 plugs in the 390se? They'll have to be resistive or have resistive extenders for megasquirt tho.

Any thoughts?

See here for good quality dizzy cap and rotor-> http://www.famousfour.co.uk/new_parts/parts-veh-rr...

Avoid the intermotor caps ( which seem to be the most common at motor factors round my way)if you can, i've found them to be absolutley sh*te, with centre electrodes that disintergrate after a few hundred miles.

Thanks guys. Bits ordered. On a day when the hands don't weld themselves to the spanners through cold, I'll put 'em on. Roll on spring I say!
