Hi all,

I've been searching through lots of previous threads this evening trying to decide which battery conditioner I can fit to a 360 - opinions seem to vary thread to thread, between CTEK, Optimate, Accumate + others but these seem to be the popular three.

Ctek is looking favourite as it seems to be the choice of many OEM's, looks a fairly robust piece of kit, simple to use and can be connected directly using connector or via cigarette lighter (which some people say is fine, others say don't and always hardwire to battery or behind passenger seat?!).

http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www....

I found this whilst searching for CTEK XS3600 chargers and was wondering if anyone has fitted one of these "indicator panels, come charging point" - seems like a pretty good idea and could look quite tidy if it can be mounted somewhere suitable.

Has anyone fitted or used one?

Any suggestions on where it could be fitted, where it would sit flush with mounting point?

Will take car out of the garage tomorrow and see where it could go, but any ideas much appreciated!!

Thanks, Paul

i have used ctek ones on my maser and the ferrari one supplied with 430 is also a ctek. this has wiring onto the battery and a different connector so you can only use ferrari unit (unless you rewire or change connectors i guess). you really want quite a long lead from the battery connectors as the one ferrari supply is so short the only way i can connect it is to kneel on the garage floor and lie in the passenger footwell which is not that glamourous!

I thought the 360 had a battery voltage gauge anyway? That's all this is.

Just plug it into the cigarette lighter and be done with it, if it's on the permenant battery feed, and I think it is on the 360, there is absolutely no reason not to.

Thanks for replies.
Just ordered a CTEK XS3600 which has both the croc and hard-wire connectors and also ordered the cigarette lighter adapter. Will leave the OP indicator until I have a good look in the daylight and sounds a bit OTT from the above.

Quick google image search and I was wrong, you don't have a voltage gauge, you have oil temp, oil pressure and water temp.

But you don't need it anyway.

If you've just picked it up it is normal practice to post up some pics...something like this......

Hi S1M VP. I have a 360 Modena and have been using the CTEK battery conditioner for over a year now. I have hard wired it behind the passengers seat which seems to work ok as she has always started on the button first time.

Enjoy....

I have Accumate for the car and Optimates for the bikes and have used them for years.
The 360 Spider I had used to charge it via the cig socket the 12v socket on the CS is not live so it is now hard wired onto the battery rather than behind the seat.

Hi Bertie - I was waiting until I could take the car out of the garage and take some proper pics, but just for you I will post a couple of low res ones that I took on the iphone under flourescent light + one of the rear of the car which was sent to me by the previous owner (also a PH & club scuderia member).

Congrats, I do love 360s, to me they are a more honest and attractive design than the 430.

Just for clarity, that's not me!!!!

I use two CTEK 3600's with great results, it's probably the best charger/conditioner on the market.

The Porsche branded chargers are CTEK (albeit with the obligatory price increase).

Use a number CTEK chargers on all sorts of cars and equipment. I have had a battery explode while connected to one. Made quite a mess in the engine bay - even put a dent in the bonnet! Don't assume you can always just fit and forget.
