Bus crashes and overturns in Clapham...
Discussion
I'm fine thx bud, I didnt actually see it because I was on a bend.
Guy in an car next to me did, got impression bus lost it somehow (which doesnt surprise me as I was only thinking yesterday how inappropriately london bus drivers generally drive for the road conditions AND considering what they are driving), the bus then went into the path of a truck, hit it then turned over. i could be wrong, but thats the story I had.
He was white as a sheet.

Like said above, glad your ok.. having seem the angles that some of those buses can get to WITHOUT turning over, I can only assume it takes a lot of skill and dedication to actually get one to turn over...Guy in an car next to me did, got impression bus lost it somehow (which doesnt surprise me as I was only thinking yesterday how inappropriately london bus drivers generally drive for the road conditions AND considering what they are driving), the bus then went into the path of a truck, hit it then turned over. i could be wrong, but thats the story I had.

this may or may not be the bus drivers fault & it sounds like he's quite badly hurt so I dont want to speculate.. BUT.
yesterday I saw a driver take a 90 degree turn from knightsbridge onto sloane street faster than I would do in my 355. He swung it round and very nearly took out a pedestrian. I've been hit my a bus (in the car) and some (not all) the drivers treat the streets of london like their personal racetrack. I'm amazed more people arent injured by them.

dont want to steer the thread away, but god I get p1ssed off with bus drivers thinking that because the Highway code says " please let the bus go first, it gives them right of way" Had an incident last summer when I had a row with a bvus driver who arrived at a gap the same time as me when I had right of way, and just kept coming.. when I said something, his reply was "go and buy a bigger car (I drive an MGF) you fat c**t!....CraigW said:

What he did not bargain on was me turning around, and pulling infront of him at the next lights... was great watcjing him back track out of that one....
yeah I took my one bus journey this year and there was no room so i was by the driver. We were in traffic moving at about 10 mph then stopping for 5-10 seconds or so..
Every time the driver stopped she slammed on the brakes and sent everyone flying. Evenetually I said, are you blind? she said "eh?" i said, "well you can see the traffic stopping better than anyone, yet every time you brake its as if you werent expecting it"
she didnt say anything. I was glad to get off, havent got back on since!

Could have been a whole lot worse
Four people were seriously injured when a lorry collided with a double-decker bus and shed its load of steel girders in south-west London.
Fire crews had to cut a number of passengers out of the route C3 bus after the incident which happened in Battersea at about 0830 GMT.
The girders apparently smashed through windows. The badly injured, including the driver, were taken to hospital.
Another 17 have been treated in hospital for minor injuries.
The crash happened at the junction of Plough Road and St John's Hill.
'People screaming'
There were about 25 passengers on the bus at the time.
Investment banker Rory Withfield, 31, who was on board, said: "I was standing near the front of the bus when I saw the truck approaching.
After it fell over everything was quiet as everyone had realised what had happened
Rory Withfield, passenger
"It was carrying metal pylons which struck the bus and were ripping the side of it."
He said the driver appeared disorientated and the bus then mounted the pavement and toppled over.
Describing the moment the vehicle overturned, Mr Withfield said: "It was leaning over and then it seemed to fall in slow motion.
"People were screaming and everyone's bags were falling down one side. After it fell over everything was quiet as everyone had realised what had happened."
He continued: "There were one or two people trying to help the rest. The driver seemed unconscious but he came to. We were stuck in there until the emergency services arrived."
Frank Keogh, a reporter from the BBC Sport website who lives locally, saw the aftermath.
He said: "The bus was travelling uphill. The lorry was carrying steel girders and apparently shed part of its load.
"The girders crashed into the bus."
Mr Keogh continued: "Firefighters and emergency services are all at the scene. There is a lot of sleet coming down.
"The bus is completely on its side. The lorry is nearby and it appears the girders smashed through the windows of the bus."
Full investigation
A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: "Fifteen patients were treated at the scene and transported to hospital.
"Three patients were taken as a priority - a 27-year-old woman and a 30-year-old to St George's Hospital, and a 45-year-old man to Chelsea and Westminster.
"12 patients were transported to hospital with minor injuries - six to Chelsea and Westminster, four to St Thomas' and two to Charing Cross."
A Transport for London spokesman said: "The police and emergency services are attending the scene and we are working closely with them.
"There will be a full investigation into this incident."

I blame top gear! They do all these features racing MPVs and campers, buses and airport machinary and have no thought for what ideas they're putting into the minds of bus drivers who think it's "cool" to race around the streets with no regard to anyone's safety!
Clarkson should be banned from having SIGHT.
......oh wait, no.
