Should I take the plunge?

Have been considering buying myself a g27+seat from these guys http://www.playseat.com for christmas.

Am I mad? Are there cheaper alternatives? I like how the seat looks (I have a space in my tv room that it could occupy very nicely) but thought it best to request the expertise of the PH pantheon of knowledge.

What is the setup like? have many of you guys had a crack at one?

Just after a bit of guidance from the PH massiv really, all feedback vastly appreciated and all that chaps

Cheers, problem with those, though, is that by the time you have added the mount for the gear selector and the g27 itself the price goes above that of those originally posted!

Get a G25 over a G27. While the G27 may have small improvements over the G25 (more buttons, uprated wheel internals yet the LOSS of sequential..), it is not worth over twice the ammount of a new G25 imo. I've recently bought myself a new G25 with three year warranty for just £120, brand new.

Also, i would recommend this seat setup. I've tried it side by side with a friends PlaySeat, and i personally think my chair is more comfortable and i believe it works out cheaper too. The PlaySeat is comfortable, but it's a pretty harsh race seat with lots of support holding in your sides, which is something you don't want when playing a video game as there are no G forces to throw you about. You want an extremely comfortable seat for those endurance races, which the Rinoseat does well imo.

I have a G25 but I have also used a G27 and IMO, the internals have really imrpoved the product, whereas the G25 has a slightly 'notchy' feel as the wheel is turned, the G27 feels very smooth.

I guess it depends how fussy you are about that aspect of the wheel, but I thought it made a huge difference. If I didn't have the G25, I think I would probably have bought the G27 despite the extra cost.

I've tryed a G27 on LFS, and while i agree that the G27 is no doubt smoother, i still cant justify the extra price hike. Due to it's price, i will still take the G25 over a G27 anyday.
