I put a set of 452s on my car back in April of this year. Since then the car has covered over 12k miles, which included an afternoon lapping Castle Combe, a weekend at the Nurburgring (1 day on track), and a day arsing about on an airfield. The rest of the time isn't spent with Miss Daisy hitching a ride either.
Less than a fortnight ago, whilst being serviced, I had it confirmed that the fronts had 5mm left, and the rears were about 3mm .... I knew this already, however not the exact measurements - I run my fingers through the treads when I wash the car to see how close they are to the wear bars.
I'm getting a replacement pair for the rear delivered after Xmas, but am failing to see how you honestly expect a set of PS2s to last close to 25k miles with the same type of use.
ETA. I'll be using Camskills too, and fitting myself.

I had brand new ps2's on my S3 when i bought it.. they did around 10k miles including motorways, usual commuting a few track days & nurburg trip.
The Falkens did about 10k doing the same.. I would say the wear rate is pretty much the same.
But thats 4wd (not fully but..)
But on my old E46 M3 i was changing the rears twice to the fronts once every 12k'sh doing the same sort of stuff

I have just changed my original set after just over 16k and whilst a lot of my mileage is Motorway, I do drive hard at weekends and evenings
So I'lll stick with the falkens and pocket the £600, ta

I had them on my 535D and aside from the fact they don't cover the entire width of the alloy by a smidge they are fine and as good as any tyre I've used.

Heard the same story from one or two tyre retailers when I was looking to move to Vredesteins from Michelins on my M3CS; however, I took the chance and the Ultrac Sessantas lasted if anything slightly longer than the PS2's. As I've said on other threads, I've nothing against Michelins and think they're good tyres; however, whether they're work a significant price premium over some of the other brands is open to debate. Suffice to say my car is still on Vredesteins and they've proved to be good in all weathers (including the snow we had today!). So ultimately, you will spend another £512 in the time that an original set would last.
Had the Falken's on my E39 M5 and found them to be a great tyre in the dry (Never really pushed them in the wet, so don't know how they compare for wet weather grip).
They lasted me 18 months on the rear, which is the same as the michelins lasted.
Dry weather grip was the same as the michelins.
I'd put Falkens on any car with total confidence.

So just how can you get 22K out of a rear set of PS2's????????? coz my rear 452's have just about done 11K...this includes, a ring trip with 12 laps, croft and Spa track days.....i can smell BS..So ultimately, you will spend another £512 in the time that an original set would last.

But whats the point in getting 340bhp with enough grip for 250bhp, seems a bit silly to me
To all the "nay sayers" - you should all do a bit of research. Falken is owned by Dunlop, which in turn is owned by GoodYear. Not bad provenance to start with, non? According to ADAC (German RAC equivalent and Europe's biggest authority on tyres by virtue of the breadth of tyre tests performed) Falken consistently come to within a whisker of beating Michelin PS2 in all categories. They usually win handling, wet handling, dry and wet stopping distance and lose in longevity and road noise. For the money though, it is difficult to complain. I have been using them since 2003 on all my cars and can recommend them with no reservations.
