Morning all,

Did anyone see the parked trafpol on the bridge between junction 5 and junction 4 of the southbound M40 this morning? Would that be a mobile Scamera, and if so, what is the trigger level likely to be?

Cheers,

Jason

Just as an aside, why is the M40 now described as having a northbound and a southbound carriageway when it used to be described as eastbound and westbound before it was extended to Birmingham? It is obviously predominantly east and west way past Oxford!

I have no idea, but for a long time the M25 carriageways were variously described as "North", "East", "South" and "West". I still hear that occasionally, but most traffic reporters now use "clockwise" and "anticlockwise". The railways had it right when the used "up" to mean towards London and "down" to mean away - Streaky
