Sticker Damage to Paint Work
Discussion
Hi
I'm very seriously considering taking my TVR to Le Mans this coming year. In keeping with tradition I'm looking to bling the beast up a little with a few transfers.
My questions are;
a) do such stickers and the like damage the paint work ? And;
b) are there ways to reduce the risk of damage ?
Thanks in anticipation

The vinyl variety don't usually do any damage - other than if left on for a long time (think in terms of years!) will affect the way the paint underneath fades which might be visible when they're removed - and are usually easily removed with a hot air gun when you're fed up with them.

Had to remove some stickers and residue glue from old stickers which had all ready been removed in the past , this was on a black car with extremely soft paint , the stickers had been on for some time before i removed them using heat gun and tar and glue remover there was no damage done to the paint .
Here is how bad the glue marking was and been sitting for some time , the car had been covered in stickers for the le mans weekend .

I would say it will be fine never had a car which has been a problem , the only thing to watch for is putting stickers on new fresh paint (not fully cured paint) as the glue can seep into the clear coat .
