Carrera Cup GB to feature live on Motors TV

All 20 races in the 2004 Porsche Michelin Carrera Cup GB are set to be broadcast live following confirmation of dramatically increased coverage from Motors TV. All BTCC race days will now be televised live from the very start of racing, thus ensuring that all 20 races in the Carrera Cup will be screened live.

Motors TV, which is available in 11 million home in the UK and across Europe, will broadcast the complete BTCC race day live from each of the 10 meetings on the schedule. Provisional scheduling suggests that all Carrera Cup races will run on race day, with two races per meeting.

"This is fantastic news for the Carrera Cup ," says Geoff Turral, General Manager, Marketing Porsche Cars GB. "It underlines the status of the BTCC and TOCATour and we are delighted to be a key part of this major expansion of live coverage ."

Confirmation of live coverage of the complete TOCATour season represents a first for British motor racing. Motors TV will also take an expanded role in the advance promotion of the race meetings and is available free-view on channel 416 via Sky Digital.

Further TV coverage for the Carrera Cup GB is currently under negotiation and will be announced in due course.

Great News, I really hope that enthusiasts support Motors TV, and see it go from strength to strength, at the moment its interesting but clearly limited by content, though i have to say I enjoyed the Bathhurst 24 hours so much I've viewed it at least three times, along with the Nations Cup and the Aussie V8's !
I think Ben ------ ? does an excellent job with very informed and interesting commentries on the live UK events, amazed he hasn't been scooped up by one of the major channels.

Happy New Year,

Tim.

Excellent news.

If anyone from Motors TV is reading this thread, we'd also like some live coverage of the Nurburg 24 hour race. The cameras are already in place, recording it for german television so it's just a case of striking a deal!!

Great channel BTW

Ok so we are going to see some Porches, but why did they stop the JGTC? Its the only the time us in the West saw what these race's were like, and some were damm good, to the extent to make our own GT series be put to shame.

I'm another big fan of Motors TV and this is another step in the right direction for them.

I do however (like the other post) miss the JGTC.

I also wish that Motors TV had got the WRC rights for the UK; was patchy but at least we got a slot on each day, the ITV coverage of just 1 hour on the Sunday was just not enough and Eurosport would be OK if they could keep to the listed time slots.
