Couldn't start her for love nor money, fuel wasn't getting to the good end. the garage have undone the wiring, done it up again and it started first time. they recckon it could be a'dry connection'. It's the only dry thing in the car if that's true.

Anyyone know why that could cause fuel starvation?

they have just said that teh wring in the driver's footwell that goes to the fuel 'stuff' must have had a dodgy connection or something.

Sounds like something my dinky little size 12s could'v caused.

"Dry joint" is generally used to describe soldered joints where the solder hasn't bonded with both surfaces. I suspect the problem in your case is probably a corroded contact or a loose fuse or relay. Corrosion is more likely if the car has been damp inside.

It has definitely been a bit damp in there.

Would it be the sort of thing that coudl be 'cured' by undoing and doing up again. he even said that there was no 'visible' corrosion. I was semi-serious about yanking something out with by big toe. It woudln't surpprise me. I'ma clumsy oaf.

forgive me for being the least mechanically minded person on PH....
