Silverstone GP best stand

What is best stand to be sitting in for the GP? I have never spectated at SIlverstone so don't really have any idea?

The roof of the BRDC clubhouse...if you're not a full member but managed to swing an invite.

Otherwise I've always liked watching on grandstands at Copse.

I think Luffield A or B (i think it's called) as you get the view of cars coming through Bridge....and the whole complex past the stand and down the start finish.......that's my shout anyway.

as said around the complex is good to see the most of them but beckets can be fantastic to see just how fast they take some of the corners.

Copse is the most boring place to watch a race ever. For about 4laps your amazed at the speed and then its boring. Get a good seat high up at bridge or luffield so you can see all the complex and maybe if your lucky some of abbey. But if you get a three day ticket take a walk around the circuit on the friday to see all the places. People hate silverstone but personally i think its a great viewing circuit. So many high speed high G corners that you can see the driver at work. Maggots and becketts on the outside is amazing for this.

Agreed, ive always found some great viewing places at silverstone. The best one ive had was at the end of the hanger straight sat right up against the fence, the feeling and the sound of the whole pack racing together at 190mph on the first lap was unreal and then your in one of the best over taking spots on the track

I like it at Club. You get a good view from Stowe, through the chicane and then see them accelerating through Club up to Abbey. I have always had a general admission ticket. You can get as good a viwe as in the stands but with the added bonus that you have room for a cooler box and camping chairs are generally more comfortable than plastic grandstand seats. You have to be up early though if you want a good spot.

Don't forget if they get the new layout sorted, Bridge will be missed out - however there should be a great view of everything going straight on at Brooklands !!!

Everyone has there favourite place. If allowed it will be a different track next year which will make a difference to Abbey, Luffield and Woodcote.

Go with whatever and use Friday to visit all stands so you know for the following year. Actually that won't be much use as in 2011 the Pits are moving

My ticket is for Luffield C which from what I can tell is closer to Woodcote. Is this stand not as good?

Becketts is the best stand IMO. Standing on the outfield by the fencing as they take the left into that complex is amazing as well. I think Silverstone is far better if you can get your nose into the fence and really get close to the cars. Bit flat and lacking in topography for spectators other wise.

Im hoping for some good action at Becketts as ive just ordered some tickets for myself and brother.

Not veiwed from this grandstand before but beleive its going to be moved closer to the circuit this year so that can only be good news.

I generally get to 4 or 5 meetings a year at Silverstone, but only been to one Grand Prix - in 2006. We were in Becketts and saw Lewis perform THAT overtake in GP2, completely amazing. I reckon it's the best stand and if they move it closer to the circuit, all the better! Enjoy the race.

I tend to use the Friday/Saturday to try out all the different stands - last year we tried Stowe, Luffield and Club before the race at Copse on the Sunday.

Stowe wasn't the most exciting place, though Luffield and Club were great. Hoping to pop down to Maggots/Becketts this year for a bit.

I personally like viewing the race from the Copse/Pit straight area - that way you get to see the start, pit stops (v. limited view) and finish, podium etc. and use the other days for the other stands.

I've got tickets for Becketts grandstand this year. I went in 2008 and sat there also. You get a great view from the first part of the hangar straight and then exiting becketts. This year they have moved the grandstand closer to the circuit but removed the cover so i won't be doing the rain dance this time. Also if the new cricuit layout is used you should be able to see the cars twice a lap if the hairpin view isn't blocked. With the gold tickets i know they are roaming for friday and saturday. So i'd say that it is also worth visiting club to sit in the grandstand but also to stand on the outside. Also it is great at luffield and woodcote with a few slow and technical corners.

If you call Silverstone you can gain access to other tickets that aren't easily available on the website. The disadvantage is that you have to pay a £2.50 per ticket booking fee.

I called today and got a front row ticket
