Hopefully someone can help me. I've never seen any articles on this but what's the feasibility of adding a supercharger to an X300 3.2 Sport (AJ 16)?

Presumably this could be done. However, would it be a difficult job? Moreover, would it be easier to just fit an engine from a first generation Aston Martin DB7?

Wouldn't it be much easier to just find an XJR 4L SC engine?

a8hex, I'm sure it would. However, I doubt there are any XJR AJ16's with less than 40k on the clock. This XJ6 3.2 is a 96 plate with less than 40k on the clock. The car's absolutely immaculate. Most XJRs' of that age are rather baggy/high mileage etc so wouldn't want to buy one let alone engine swap. Would just like to make the car a little faster that's all.

Deadslow, thanks for the link - much appreciated. I'll look into that further.

My 3.2 Sport is a 94 with mid 60s mileage.
Great cars

I'm not a member there, but these guys sem to know a fair bit about supercharged Jaguars. Your question interests me since I would like to find more power from my 3.2 litre XJ40, but don't want to change the engine.

There are some twin turbo XJ40s floating around - Janspeed possibly. Thye might all be 3.6 though.

Or possibly Chasseur (memory vague, so could be completely wrong)done by the Racing Green guys in a former life.

Not sure about the spelling but that's the cars.

Hunt back here a couple of years and look for postings by "jagman"

There were a few fast versions of the XJ40 made by outside companies, some of them available on the X300 too.

Janspeed made about 60 twin turbo (RotoMaster turbos?) XJ40 cars which make about 293 bhp in 3.6 form. I believe nearly all were 3.6 litres, but that there were some 4 litres made.

The Chasseur Stealth was available as a 3.6 and as a 4 litre, the latter producing 340-450ish bhp and was a very fast car. They made a 4.2 version of the X300 called the Tornado which was even more powerful.

Arden made a biturbo version of the 3.6 and 4 litre AJ6 engine. 330bhp from the 3.6.

I suspect he original poster was asking if anyone had put a supercharger on the 3.2 litre because the 3.2 AJ16 is the basis for the supercharged engine in the 6 cyl Aston Martin DB7. I must admit I have wondered about the feasability of this too.
