Hope I don't get black flagged for coming on here and mentioning Chimaeras but I'm after bit of advise on 5 litre lump,seen a nice Chim 500 for sale locally. How did TVR stretch Rovers "little" 3.5 that far ? Longer stroke or just a megger over bore ? Which ever way has it made it any less reliable than the 4.0 or 4.5 versions ?

Can't help you from a technical point of view but in my experience, the 5ltr lump is a very reliable piece of kit. Very, very few stories of woe on Pistonheads to say any different.
Only problem I've had was a new cam needed at about 60,000 miles which isn't uncommon.
As with all engines, warm up properly, keep regularly serviced and oil fresh and enjoy yourself.
IMO, 5lr lump isn't stretched, let alone over stretched.
