Driving an Ultima!

Hi,

I have been trying for years now to drive my dads Ultima....he wont let me.......you guys know him fairly well.....anything I can bribe him with to get a go??

My dad is Steve_D or The Prof as some of you may know him!!

I imagine letting someone else have a go with a car you have built must be akin to letting someone "have a go" with your only daughter, even though they have no intention of marrying her. It's just not done!

I think you should tell him he is too old to drive it now, and he should pass it down to you. If that fails buy him plenty of beer, get him drunk and NICK IT

differcult 1 steve.....

i suppose u could take him to a disused airfield so he did not hit anything or anyone....I havent let anyone near mine yet, and to be fair if I did, i wouldnt want to be in the car or see it... it would be a great excuse to hear the car from the outside

p.s......u could always put a load of slack in the throttle cable.....

i know Luke but im over 40 and im a looooooooooooooooney.... dad wouldnt let me drive any of his cars as he knows how i drive..... So i understand how you feel and would compromise if i got the chance......Then you dad would be happy

wish you luck , especially in this weather... mines all tucked up now as i know id spin it...hence the airfield idea!!!!!!!!!!

get yourself insured with hagerty insurance, (and your Dad) then your BOTH fully insured to drive each others cars... what ever they may be. So no excuse then! Take the ultima and say "opps, didnt notice it wasnt my car" Worked with my (22 year old) son!

I got insured through Richard Egger insurance and im only 20. Also because its classed as a "competition car" my insurance is cheaper on the GTR than my 1.6 honda chavic!

Competition license helped with the quote though - think that made a hefty difference.
