Do I upload images to PH from my desktop which are in a word format?
Or how do I change them to JPEG?

Could you not upload it to somewhere like photobucket and then use the direct link from there?

Wont do word, unless you host else where.

Best bet is to take a screen shot using the "print screen" key and pasting in to paint, saving, then uploading.

If they are in a word doc, they will be an embedded image probably. Highlight the image, (Left click once) Right Click on image, select copy. Minimize word doc, on your desktop, blank area, right click, paste and image will be there as jpg, bmp or some sort of format hopefully. Take the Upload an image up there ^^^ and if image is below max size you should be OK.

This also may go wrong for many many reasons, caveat emptor and all that
