Selling an M400?

Greetings,

after more timewasters than anyone could tolerate without the consumtion of a bottle of single malt a night, I have finally sold the Focus RS to an excellent fellow who works for McLaren.

So now I wish to get back to where my heart is and back behind the wheel of a Noble toot sweet and having been down the 3R root before, I guess it's time to try an M400. Any of you fine chaps either thinking of selling or know anyone who is? I wouldn't rule out another 3R either if the search for the right M400 proves fruitless.

Thre problem is for owners, what do you replace it with without adding silly money to the value of it? I've had mine e 2.5 years, and a 3R before that, and every time I get the "itchy feet so many cars so little time" feeling I draw a blank in finding something at sensible money that would be a worthy replacement. Part of me thinks Caterham/Atom before my athritus really kicks in, other part says I'm already too bloody old for one of them!

Paul - I have indeed clocked the red one although with that mileage the dealer obviously hasn't
I simply don't like red as a colour for a Noble, just a personal preference. It's titanium and black all day for me, with blue as a close 3rd.

Andy - I make you totally right. Selling my 3R which I loved dearly was daft and I've missed it hugely, hence the decision to return, something I have never done before in amongst some 60 cars I've owned.

Marshy - Camb based and in a black M400? Very nice too. I take it you have emailed me but unfortunately that goes to my work address which I won't be accessing till Monday. Can you re-send to:

That's relief as mine's done 26,000 and is blue so you won't like it!

Did the same, sold 3R on a whim accepting a great offer, realised literally as he drove off I'd made a mistake and so then spent 9 bloody months finding a decent 400!

Actually Andy, your car looks pretty tasty in blue with dark rims and for the record, 26k is not that much - it's exactly the same mileage I sold my 3R with and it was still tight and sweet as a nut. As Paul mentioned, makes for a good haggling point too!

Second time I've been down for saying "highish mileage", reason I put that is for "this type of vehicle" it is highISH its not like its a practical every day run around (sure some one will jump on that on as well), lets think: no boot, difficult to get in, doesn't like the wet,two seats etc etc. Don't get me wrong I love my Noble, but as we've seen some of those that try to use theirs every day can get very frustrated. They are a weekend, fine weather car and so 25k plus is more than the average. This of course is IMHO

Wessex maybe "More than usual mileage for a Noble" might be a fairer term? My 3R hated the fact it wasn't used regularly and got hissy fits accordingly,( it was 2.5 years old when I sold it with 6K miles) my M400 has been used everyday and has been relatively faultless (touch wood)for the type of car it is.I have however, just bought a barge as well,to cover the days when I know I'm working late,inclement weather(ironic at the mo').
Don't think anyone is trying to flame, of course we all have different opinions and experiences.

N.B. there was 4 M400's for sale recntly in the classifieds, wonder if they all sold?

Mine is my 3rd toy car and to boot I've a member of Ecurie25. My M400 still has done 26k in 5 years.

Just because it's a toy doesn't mean you don't drive it.

J, good for you. I think you will find more Nobles under 25k than over, these's a reason for that, "more than usual milage" or "highish milage" come on, I think we understand what was being said!!! Anyway as said before best of luck noble al in your search. And yes we do all love each other, just don't always agree

It has the Roush upgrade (exhaust, intercooler and remap), grooved disks and track pads all round, full Pro-Alloy goodies, electric windows and mirrors, uprated speakers and stereo, tyre pressure monitor, removable steering wheel etc etc.

Noble_al,well there you are, your own car "was still tight and as sweet as a nut at 26K miles", so it's not a haggling point on mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
