I have a trickle charger with the croc clips on the end, so I'm trying to attach it to the battery terminals in the engine bay.

The manual tells me to remove the small plastic protective cover in the left rear of the engine bay. But it doesn't seem to want to move and I'm loathe to use brute force.

Any advice welcomed!

(yes, I am not very mechanically minded!)

Isn't normally too difficult to remove - are you looking at the right cover?!

An inch wide by about three long?

If so just pull harder, only the top will come off, the rest is bolted to the car.

Andrew,

Maybe it's easier to get a CTEK with the optional cigarette lighter plug? I use it on my Diablo and no more fussing about with those crocodile clamps...
No idea how to get to the terminals in the SV though, in the Diablo they're exposed

You have to squeeze it together gently and it should then lift of, should have a cable tie attached so it can't fall off, this should be for the positive and you can earth the other to the metal bolt at the end of the engine block. I hope this helps.

Thanks everybody! Managed to take the cover off smile

Here are a few pics as I couldn't resist driving it, even if it was only around the garage (snow was a few feet deep outside)
