When I was a young un everyone had long flat plastic sledges called, I think, Sarvis.

Does anyone know where I might be able to buy a couple?

I bought a couple a few years ago. Think they were a bargain from SplashandRelax.

Be carefull with the cheap ones. My materials lecturer at uni did a few tests on neighbours kids sledge that had broken and discovered it was made from a plastic which turns brittle below about 5 degrees C rolleyes

Nope, wrong type of sledges. These were just a simple plastic tray with three moulded runners.

I read that as:

'I need to use your sledge kids!'

'Why, mister?'

'I need to conduct, ahem, valuable scientific research...........weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!'

I have one of those, bit of string at the front. slightly curved bit where you put your feet and then three bits on the bottom that it runs along on. They are available from most toy shops for about a tenner. Best to get at least two if you have kids.

Definately not. You need to use the roof of a high-top Transit, then once the snow melts (tomorrow) you still have a boat!

Or the red and white boards round roadworks. Bent over at the front.

Yours is the grand version with brakes though, mine is the economy spec one, meaning you smash into whatever is at the bottom of your chosen hill, or fall out sideways.
