You need to ask 'dbv8'.
He has it fitted to his 450 Chim'.
Awesome, and was down into the 11 second quarter bracket.
At our TVR drag race meet in York last April he beat all-comers including those fancy Tuscans,T350s and Cerbs.
Ok, now the engine is out for a re-build, but not unreasonable considering how much stick he's given it...including driving to the venues from Cumbria.
For road use you wouldn't need to use as much nitrous as he has for drag racing anyway.

Had it on mine for nearly 5 years now, can change it between 50 and 100hp, NO2 tank squeezes into the spare wheel-well, next to the space saver.
A 10lb refil costs about £40 and lasts........not very long
Easy way to extra grunt without complex and expensive tuning though.

Chedder , any pics of the nitrous layout etc , how it plumbs in , any disadvantages or is it just massive grin factor ?A 10lb refil costs about £40 and lasts........not very long

Not really come across any disadvantages with the 'wet' system and it certainly hasn't caused any damage, lots of info on the web and a lot of it is conflicting but for relatively small amounts of the gas you don't need to do any mods to the engine' it's only when you start running massive bhp with it that you need to start retarding timing and swapping plugs around.
I tend not to use it in 1st or 2nd to prevent any shock loading to the transmision but in the final 3 gears you can definately feel it kick in when it's activated, not quite like the scenes from The Fast and the Furious.....it's more like a turbo spooling up.
Fitment was very easy with the ZEX kit I used and took no more than 2 hrs.
I did get the chance to compare my car (pre supercharger) against a standard 350 and 400 a few years ago, it romped away from the 350 with ease and outdragged the 400 by a fair margin.
Hope that helps

Nitrous is the way to go for a cheap way of 'temporarily' matching the performance of the later models.
Its easy enough to add 100lb/ft of torque throughout the rev range.
My Chim 450 runs 13.0 @ 107 at best without gas and 11.6 @ 125 with a 'little'
Watch out because it becomes highly addictive
A lot of advice can be found on the 'Wizards of nos' forums.

Thanks for the nice comments on my old Taz, it did start life as a 280 but as Graham said it's seen a few changes in the last 10 years since I bought it (list of mods on my profile). Wheels are standard 8x15 OZ items off the 400SE but with the centres and caps powder coated black.
As for the jack handle in the photo........jack was required when the oil presure disappeared at the Wedgefest (doh!) due to the incorrect fitting of the spacer plate at the end of the cam leading to the oil pump drive giving up the ghost (my fault) fortunately it wasn't terminal.
As DBV8 says, Nitrous is addictive stuff and allows you to keep the engine standard for normal driving and MPG but when you arm the switch and stomp on the loud pedal the laughing gas turns into a different beast on acceleration.

This guy is interesting, he's on a 4.6 now and I think run a 10.66 1/4 mile, but he was running on a stock 3.5L for a long time and getting some incredible times. There's an article somwhere on the 3.5L and what he did but I couldn't find it.

There's a guy near me who's had NO on his 420SE for about 8 years; must be at least that because I still had my Tas when he bought his wedge, and I sold the Tas in 2001.
Used to drag it at York till it went pop; bought a Supra to race instead and only got the 420 back on the road earlier this year.
