Wedge 4 into 1 manifold progress
Discussion
Well,
At last I'm making some forward progress with the stainless steel 1 3/4 inch - 4 into 1 manifolds for the wedge..
Both are now fairly well finished as you can see below and just need the 2 1/2 inch link pipes to the centre box and the mounting flanges added ..
RH side - lots of curves to clear the starter motor :

Left Hand side (still needs to be cleaned up with 600 grit wet and dry):

Hi Alan, I note that the ports are "free floating" as it were, I would consider welding in a bar connecting them together in pairs. I know that they are bolted to the manifolds while in use but I reckon that they might settle down a bit in use and twist about, so on re-fitting it might get a little tricky.
They are looking good though, how about posting a shopping list of pipe bits so we can all have a go ;^)

Adam - nice idea with the bar but not really possible as the spark plug is in the way. The pipes can be moved with a bit of muscle anyway .. so it should not be too much of an issue even after a heat cycle or 50,000 ..
I can post up the tube angles used but I really would not recommend anyone else doing this - it's been really difficult technically and time wise. It's also not cheap and most people with less than 5 litres would not benefit anyway.
If you wanted to improve the existing wedge manifold then just modify pipes 5,7 as they fire sequentially and there is not enough volume in the pipe(s).
See the back pair in this picture..
