What's happened with MW2 recently (xbox360)

I've had MW2 since the day it came out & play it a fair amount.
I would'nt say i'm an amazing player & i would'nt say i'm st either, kind of middle of the road.
I generally tend to play HC TD / S&D or HC S&D.
I've noticed the last week or so that i only seem to be getting teamed up with absolute demons of players.
As in i can't seem to score any points really.
I went from regularly scoring about 450 in normal S&D to being able to get about 150 if im lucky.
HC SD i usually get around the same but i'm regularly getting 0.
& HC TD i seem to be starting off really well - 4 kills 0 deaths then for the rest of the game i tend to just get killed.

My brothers notices it aswell & he is a much better player than me.
It's nothing to do with our connections either as they're fine.
Things like playing S&D HC i shoot a noob tube across a map like so many people do, it hits someone as you hear it click but they dont die!
I'm slowly losing patients with this game & hope they sort out all the patches soon.

I'm not sure what is going on with it... there is ALOT of issues though.

The infinite care package/harrier glitch is a pain in the arse.

I constantly seem to be dropped into private match glitched games of domination on Rust with infinite score and times settings.

I had a K/D ration of 1.98 but it now about 1.70, I was having games of 20+ kills to 2 or 3 deaths... now I get next to naff all lol seems strange how you can go from one extreme to the other.

I must admit i've not experienced the glithces really, only the stinger missile one.
But that seems to have disappeared now.
I can't see how i can go from being consistently ok at the game to consistently ste!
I thought it was due to prestiging but my brother & mates have all prestiged & got all their guns back & are experienceing the same problems!

I've found the same thing to a lesser degree. I suppose you just have to take into account that there are quite a lot of people out there who play the game for hour upon hour every day. Plus, it's a relatively new release so it'll be a while before people go off onto the next new thing.

Well it's fu**ed basically.

I think it's fail after fail with infinity ward. If you go on their forums there are millions of question about all the glitches which they work to fix and then there is another one.

The frustrating thing is no-one at IW is saying anything, they're not even answering questions on their own forums. Which are just run by moderators who rim IW and offer no help or answers, and have absolutely no connection to the company!

.....read somewhere that the moderators of the forum contacted infinity ward telling them to respond to the questions, and the mods then got banned from the site for doing so. something is going on there!

agree its a joke, was bad enough two weeks ago, luckily for me my 360's getting repaired so gives me a decent break over christmas by which time i would hope a large % of the problems have been fixed.

T89Callan, iirc, it wasn't that long ago that you had a major rant about how utterly ste you thought Operation Flashpoint was. However, there were many who stuck up for that game for what it was and enjoyed it. Everyone has an individual opinion of what their expectations are from the games they buy. Some may be amazing and some may not be. So it's hardly fair for you to tell people to grow up when discussing topics that are genuine issues with MW2.

Yes, so you love the game in comparison to others. That doesn't immediately make everyone love it for what it is too. I've had issues just like a lot of others. I still love the game, but I do get incredibly pissed off with the people who can't play it in the way it was designed to be played. If you can't accept that others have an opinion other than your own, then I don't necessarily think that its the others that need to grow up, is it?

It's probably wise to stop jumping on the defensive band-wagon every time someone discusses something that you don't necessarily agree with. I love the game as much as you do, but do agree that IW need to solve some of the issues that they may have missed. I'm by no means a game developer whatsoever, and don't understand the complexities that exist in the game. I just hope that some of the less favourable players around the world are prevented from making the whole online MW2 experience frustrating when its really very impressive!

Granted issue's will always occur, many titles have issues. Even Fallout 3 had major issues with every DLC released except the last one.

I wouldn't go so far as saying I'd never buy another game by them etc, because as you say it is a fantastic game.

There are plenty of negative comments on IW's site though, thousands if not tens of thousands. And it's ridiculous if not childish that they refuse point blank to answer any questions on their "website" from their own community.

To quote the phrase "Ignorance Breeds Contempt" which is why I think so many people are whining.

I don't care about what the games are actually like as games, I am only pointing out the technical fact that MW2 hardly has any bugs, Op Flashpiont was rushed and unfinished ruining a potentially great game.

My point is that after 20 years of gaming MW2 is one of the most technically polished games I have ever played. Especially when you consider how many people are playing and how far ahead of the competition it is the number of glitches are fking tiny.

Personally I think as a game it is good/fun but not great. Although technically it is a masterpiece yet all the idiot ranting online gamers cry and whine like it's literally the worst thing that has ever happened in the entire histroy of the world ever, get some freaking perspective.

Agree, what surprises me is the sheer number of people who want to cheat in the games. They tend to have very high ranks but in straight up fights they get their arses kicked and it then makes themselves look stupid.

I dont think the game is as polished as it could be though, some of the guns are stupidly over powered eg the 1887 shotguns. I also think that care packages should be only allowed up to rank 30 and then you should have to fend for yourself with the proper killstreak perks. I also think that tactical insertion should be removed, It's a licence to cheat and it rewards campers.

The biggest problem of all is no fking team chat. It get on my tits having to hear allsorts of assholes over live. You can get over it by muting everyone but it's a pain having to do it every game. IW you really need to allow that function back.... please!!

Don;t get me wrong, i love the game, as like i did the old one (4).
I had'nt experienced any of the problems that everyone was moaning about, i could join games, had'nt met any glitchers & had a load of really good games.
I play it a fair amount aswell.
It's only been the last week where me & all of my mates now have just expereinced glitchers after glitchers & bull st kills after bullst kills when we all have full signal.
I'm talknig shooting people and getting the clicking noise on my screen but watching kill cam and them not even being hit.
Then being randomly booted from a game, not being able to connect to games & not being able to connect with mates.
Or being with mates in a party then getting booted out.

I defended the game when it first came out as nothign ever happened to me but now i see peoples frustrations.
My mates have had their internet connections upgraded and still get the same issues.
We've all gone form playing it about 4-5 hrs a night (sad i know).
To about an hour if that.

I played 6 games of normal team death match last night.

Twice I got thrown into glitched games of 18 player domination on rust with ulimited time and score set.

Three other games opposite team had unlimited harriers for the whole game.

The other game the team I was on had unlimited harriers.

At that point I gave up, completely pointless and ruins an otherwise good game.

Trash - totally agree with all you say!
Callan - this is the second thread of a similiar nature where you have suggested it is the individuals, not the game. Maybe we were spoilt with the original MW or WAW - seamless gaming which you could play for hours on end without worry (much) about being kicked from games, cheaters or glitches.

Online, this game "feels" like a step backward and IW havent progressed the online enviroment. there is no fun when sat in a lobby waiting to join a game for 5 mins. Or not being able to talk privately with your mates / fellow PH'ers without idiots in the same game piping ste.

A few things:

- MW2 was the most anticipated game in history, hence there is significant attention paid to every glitch, which is maximised by those who feel the need to cheat.

- IW have a limited development base from which to work with, they have released the PC patch and the PS3 patch and just released the XBox patch around 30 mins ago. IW were put under significant pressure by Activision to release the game on time, IW knew there were issues and were already working on patches back in early November.

- The more people play it, the more they feel frustrated, hence those who play for extended periods will feel the pain more. I play for around 1-2 hrs per evening and have occasionally had problems, but only occasionally.

- There is a responsibility on the individuals not to cheat, I'm sure if the glitches were easy to set up and run with we would all be doing it.
