Aberdeen Gritters/Snow clearers
Discussion
Yes they aer out there, there was one going down Union Street at 2am and I just followed one up south Mount Street now. The main routes aren't too bad, most of teh issues are people not being able to get up hills because of compacted icy snow, mostly in RWD cars with low profile tyres.

And yet 'they' (obviously not me and you
) seem to have forgotten the key principle of momentum when driving in slippery conditions.Cue poor dear this morning (near where you live hactually) slamming on the brakes as she got within 50ft of a roundabout; coming to a dead halt and then wheel-spinning mercilessly as she struggled to move off from an uphill start

Me? I had the time of my life this morning

And of course there's the 4x4 invincibility.. like the young female who came tramping round the corner while i was clearing my drive, wearing that often worn 4x4 smug-look, only to realise that her Rav4 can't stop any quicker and is more than capable of sliding off the road and up onto the pavement, ABS chatterin away

Ah yes the old 'haha look at me...ow...oooh...shiiiiiit!' routine.
There's just been one on Radio 2; a Lancastrian lady, who was quite sickeningly smug about her 'ability' to drive in slippery conditions because she had a Land Rover 'int it?
I can just see the 6 'o clock headlines now...

Great fun in the snow today
Built ramps at the bottom of a steep hill and sledged down over it
The roads are okay, lot of traffic though.
Would that be the HUGE hill in B.O.D. that some serious speed can be achieved on near that campus 1 place?

Are you thinking about the hill down next to grandholme?

Where are the council gritters/snow clearers, even the main roads do not appear to be clear.
Drove from Stirling to Aberdeen last night. The roads were being cleared all the way until Aberdeen. Haven't even seen a Gritter for a week, are they out there?
There out there alright but so is mother nature and they ain't going to kick her butt. She sure is giving us some snow and -10deg in Aberdeen last night. Drove from Stirling to Aberdeen last night. It's great fun, especially when you stand on the sledge and attempt to snowboard down...until you fall off and face plant the snow
