Hi,

Does anyone know anything about the K1 Attack?

Gorgeous looking thing IMHO:

Could swear I saw one at a show recently - maybe Exeter?

Doesn't take me that way, but I know everybody's different. I look at it and think what a pity, so much effort and that's the result.

Fair play. Have to say I thought it carried off the 'baby supercar' thing a bit more than some of the other mid engined designed that often don't look entirely resolved. I know it's a touch bling with its big wheels and rather Lamboesque silhouette, but I like it.

If memory serves me right they were going to be sold as a kit (or were briefly) then dissapeared for a while?

I believe they were (are?) made in Eastern Europe somewhere. There was a build diary going on in CKC magazine, a young woman is (was) building one. That's all I know

Yep, Slovakia. Some racing success over there apparently too.

...And that's all I know.

There were a couple of countries that tried to market the car in the UK, but it kept running into dead ends. Emma, who's reporting on her build in CKC, bought her kit directly from the manufacturer.

You're right in thinking there was one at Exeter, but it was a privately owned car rather than the marketing effort of a UK distributor.

I'm with you Chris in thinking it's a great looking car. Shame it will probably always remain such a rarity over here!

There's a forum for the Attack though not very active as the 'original' car I believe is no longer in production, although I could be wrong:

The K-1 Attack was sold a good few years ago and the new owners decided to sell them as turnkeys only, they are still available, somewhere I have the info and website but they arent cheap! and there no longer in UK at all, I believe Ford Motor Company had something to do with them as well in the take over from the Slovak K-1 Company.
Will try and dig out the info if you want, the odd kit that has been for sale either unfinshed or not started are going for silly money, one still boxed a while back went for nearly £50K and ive seen a turnkey going for £90K, crazy money !!
I always liked them myself but a friend who worked on one in the past said they where awful kits, nothing fitted the fuel tank was under your front feet and you had to be about 5ft to fit snug in one, when they went to put the roof on it was about 6 inches short in width, they had to cut it and widen it, there was loads not right.
In the early days it was on a Honda Accord donor, then later it went to Ford donor parts,
The kits were quite comprehensive and came with all the brakes as well, these were from the Audi TT

I didn't know about it too until I had to go and take some pics of it for the Croatian EVO mag.. smile

The slovenians did a good job on the interior, and as far as I understand it is the first application of an RS4 engine using DI outside of an audi vehicle..
However, the price is a bit steep...

Sounds interesting. Are you going to maybe import a few, or even a lot?

Not personally, but I have heard a rumour.

There was a superb example of K1 Attack at the Exeter Kit car show. The guy who built it is from just south of Bristol.

From what I can recall he spent 3 years building it and his attention to detail is superb.

I do know what he said it cost to build but that may be unfair to state here without his permission but even at the standard he built it to with custom wheels it was much less than buying one built.

He does take the car to a few shows. I am not aware of any UK promoters or agents though.

its a shame this kits not more avaliable, for once a new original kit based on a good one doner car within a good budget and it disapears! when are ther going to be new kits? you see so many concept pics on the web from the standard manufactuers i.e ferrari, audi etc and they never come out, cant someone copy them?
