Ever since I saw one at the Ace Cafe a few months ago, I've hankered for one of these.

I've come to the conclusion that my life is hardly worth living if I don't get to own one relatively soon.

So, I'm in the early stages of getting hold of one.

Has anyone got any experience of ownership? What pitfalls should I look for? I know that a full service history is really important and that the cam belts and chains need to have been replaced at the correct intervals. I've also heard that tin worm can be a problem.

Anything else I should be aware of, ownership wise??

TIA.

Yawn

Had mine best part of 9 years and the only thing that went wrong was the rad (a common prob that can be fixed with a cheap Volvo one!) The Cup race series did not have one failure during the two years it ran. I have known a lot of Cup owners they all say the same. The only thing now is that they are all starting to do big miles.

It's a great car.

If your really serious speak to Bill Mcgrath Maserati. Know one knows more about the cars than them. And sometimes they can source a car. I know of one though the club at the mo....

I've seen Bill McGrath's name pop up several times dutring my preliminary search. Thees a car that I'm interested in that's had an engine out overhaul by him and a full service history. That's what's got my juices flowing.

Awesome, awesome cars along with the old QP Bi Turbos. Always fancied an old skool Maser.

I think when you buy anything of such pedigree there is always a chance that you could have some issues, but buy the best car you can with plenty of history.

I almost want to have kids so I have a purpose to swap the 348 for something like a Ghibli or QP.

Best of luck with the search.

Yes,that was it. The one I managed not to come to this summer. So, it's all your fault!

hehe

Wasn't it just beautiful though?

I have no intention of selling the Hawk. I think I will be buried in it.
