Thinking of going for a 2005 Cab with Auto whats the auto like to live with ?

We've just bought a 2007 Cooper Conv auto (missus can only drive auto - not by choice either before the naysayers start!). It's a CVT box so not a true auto but I have to say it isn't bad at all. The paddle shift is rubbish and it is better to leave it in D and let it get on with it. The kickdown is good and I think it is a reasonable compromise.

The Cooper S (post 2007 but not sure) has a true auto box and apparently is way way better so in a year or so we'll probably change to a Cooper S.

All in all it's a great little car, shame they are just so common!

If you don't need an auto don't get one they're not suited to the car at all and they ruin your fuel economy.
