My Father has been doing a bit of a clear out and discovered a £50 note in a presentation wallet. Apparently it's one of the first 500 produced that were only given to directors and others connected with the Bank or England.

Any idea where I can find some more information on the notes, where to get it valued and where these things get bought and sold?

I will give you £50 quid for it?

I'm no expert, but try this site?

If it is one of those listed then could be worth £95-£180 (less my commission, naturally wink)

Yeah, I'd spotted that site. What I can't work out is if that's the same series as he has. I'll take some pictures of it and send it off to some dealers I suppose.

My Dads got £100 worth of £10 notes that were printed offset, all crisp and clean. I'm talking 1980's bank notes here and for some reason he got them from Midland Bank and there were in amongst the payroll, so he said he'd keep them, swapped them for proper ones and kept them. He thought they might be worth something one day?

Anyone know what offset notes can fetch?
