Can anyone tell me why the top corners of the passenger footplates in the S2s are chipped. I wondered if it was just mine. But looking on S2 cars that are for sale on Pistonheads, it seems that most are chipped in both corners. Cheers, Dave.

Chipped? Or just shaped by machine to allow the metal to be folded?

There is a definate chip out of each corner. It looks as though it has been moulded and then the ends of the mould have been broken off. I was wondering if anyone knew if this is correct or not. I will try and upload a picture.

I think you can see what I mean on this picture. This is a new car for sale.

It is to allow the alloy to be folded.

Anyone aware of an extension to the foot brace? My missus get uncomfortable on long journeys as her legs aren't quite long enough to allow herself to brace properly.

do you have the single or 2 position model? ...if its like the one in the pic, you may be able to get a 2 position one off ebay, or even a dealer ...they were on the options list of some models, standard on others

No, there is no 'chip'. What is there is a machined cutout so that the metal can be folded, similar to what I said earlier on. This pic is the top l/h corner:

Thanks for that GKP. I can see what you are saying by your picture. That answers my question. Dave.

It's as per the picture - single position one. I spoke to my local dealer who weren't aware of one but will keep my eyes peeled on Ebay. If I don't get something sorted it won't be worth taking her out anywhere next year.

when I bought mine back in 2002 there was an option for a double position foot rest, specifically for shorter passengers, no idea if they carried it on

got to be an easy swap with someone - they are just held down with velcro...
