Hi everyone, just had new clutch, light weight fly wheel, gearbox rebuild, decatts and a tune and all the rattles and judders have gone! I have more power or better throttle response which is fab but the car is now too loud. I have sleeved standard cans.... What will make it quieter - suggestions please.

I suppose standard cans would be a start ..... any one willing to part with a pair for not much money as this lot has cost a fortune!

Hi

If you can get hold of NTEL on here he makes half sleeved back cans. Or as rens said you could try taking the sleeves out and then half the sleeve and spot weld it back in.

Slightly off topic, but how miserably do they fail an MOT when their decatted?

They fail, allthough some specialist will have a set of cat's on the shelf should you need them on the day just to pass the test

fitting and removing them afterwards will take an hours time

Standard Tuscans with TVR power De-cat Eprom will just get through, Tuscan S will not even with a re-map.

As for sound mine has NTEL de-cats and Blueflame titanium exhaust cans which have silencing material as the standard cans, reasonably quiet below 3000 RPM, but sounds like a Speed Six should above that!

OK guys the sleeves have welded themselves to the exhaust. Therefore I need new standard cans or an alternative. Can any one help me out with a par of old cans?

Ive got a pair of standard Tuscan cans that came of my 2001 car. I sold it a few years ago with Carbon Cans and I was keeping them as I planned to get another Tuscan but I bought a cerb instead.

I'll get a few pictures sent to you and see if we can do a deal..

I'm away from home until Sunday so I wont get pics until then.

good call !!! But whilst the Tuscan is a good looking car when you see a cerb and tuscan parked next to each other, imo the cerb is much prettier
