1928 Omega Drivers Watch
Discussion
With the motoring theme I thought this might be of interest. I'm led to believe that this is what is known as a transition watch because it started life as a pocket watch (hence the double back). In the early part of the 20th century when motoring was becoming very fashionable, people were having lugs attached to their pocket watches so that they could use them as wristwatches for ease of use when on the move. Further to this the face was rotated so that the time could be read with out having to take your hands off the wheel.
If anyone knows anything about these type of watches then I would love to hear from you. Also, any suggestions of where I can get hold of a period style 22mm strap as the current one does it no favours.

In a moment of madness I took a punt on ebay, they occasionally come up so it may be worth keeping an eye out.
It needs a little work as its a bit worn inside because of its age but its a bit unusual so worth saving.
The biggest problem is finding someone to work on these things without sending them away but luckily I've got a good guy for it.

I don't mean to be insulting, but it looks like someone has put a strap on a pocket watch........
Is this a joke? The OP mentions in the first post that it is. Concentrating on the original pocket watch first, I'm assuming this is quite big for the era, like 45mm+ diameter if so it looks like it could be an Omega 40,6L movement which was around in the mid 20's to early 30's. The movement serial number also places it around the late 20's(6997984).
What case number is on it I can make out ?120855 but that does not tie into anything I have.
