Hi

Looking at doing a Bedford track day in my M3 Evo. Noise limit is 101 dB.

Engine / exhaust is standard apart from the back box, which gives a pretty fruity sound.

Would anyone have a guestimate of whether I'm likely to get through or whether I'd better start looking for a standard back box??

Any thoughts much appreciated!

Our track M3 has a Scorpian back box which is pretty much as loud as they get and that was fine last time it was run there.

I think you should be ok but then I don't know what your back box is so wouldnt want to put my name to it.

I'm surprised to hear that, you must have been really lucky. Mine with Scorpion and K&N filter tested at 103db static at one of the circuits.

Just tried to call Guy to find out but the car also has DAVE F (KnN) Induction kit.

Positive it was at Bedford and this year.

I went there in a 3.0 M3 with what I think was a Magnex back box. It registered at 97db at 45 degrees at half a metre away, so was fine. I thought the exhaust seemed quite loud on the road so if yours doesn't seem too bad then I'm sure it'll be fine.

Thx - good info. Looking at getting a Dave F by the way - do you recommend?

The session I was talking about was at Brunters not Bedford, my apologies. It did only register 98db though so I think you should be ok.

The Dave F is a great Mod for the E36 M3. I have been on the same forum as Dave for many moons now and can tell you that a lot of testing went towards the finished product that it is today. I love my 135 but I sure miss the noise that M3 made after fitting one of Dave F's kits.

Trying to find some of the videos from my last trip to the ring in my M3 evo, it was a great advert for the Dave F kit but it seems to be lost in the internets, I cannot find them on youtube frown

DaveF induction kit is awsome... sounds fantastic and actually did give it some power which is unusual in induction kits without a remap IMO.
