Unable to delete file
Discussion
Hi - I recently downloaded a shareware copy of Test Drive Off Road 3 from a reputable site. After removing the game, it left the original installer file & subsequent download on my desktop & in c:downloads respectively.
I am now unable to delete either of these files as they are in use, even after a reboot.
I cannot see any unusual processes running or anything in the registry set to run on start up which should not be there...
Has anybody got any ideas how I can remove these files?

Get something like ProcessExplorer from www.sysinternals.com/ and you can normally find a process that has a handle open on the file, normally some background process you weren't aware of (filesharing app, for example?). Basically, some program (visible or not) is probably still accessing the file and you need to stop or kill that program in order to delete it.
It's a bit complicated to use unless you understand what file handles and processes are, but if you find the handle to the file, you can kill it using process explorer.
There's a search facility in there to help make it a bit easier.
Cheers,
Dan
