So it's Christmas Eve and my wife and I have come to my parents cottage for Christmas. I thought I'd do something useful so started cutting up some wood for the fire, all's going well until a piece of wood got stuck to the axe and only departed once it was in line with the window :/ The log bounces off the window but only after leaving a hole and fractures across the pane. What's the best way to go about fixing it? Can it be repaired using the old lead? A bit of a time issue as it would be nice if it was fixed before they got back from their holiday!

Although we have some leaded windows I have not attempted to repair any yet. However a quick google for "leaded glass repair diy" brought up a number of useful tips.
